South East’s first FeelGood Factory is a success at Montem Leisure Centre
25 April 2012
The South East’s first ever FeelGood Factory has now been open to the public for 7 weeks at Slough Community Leisure venue, Montem Leisure Centre, and is already proving a huge success with the local community.
All FeelGood members use the same power-assisted equipment for the same amount of time, completing a 36 minute circuit. The facility has been designed so that everybody, irrespective of age, mobility, weight or fitness level can use all of the machines. It is also suitable for members with conditions such as MS, Fybromalgia, Stroke, Back pain, ME, Arthritis, joint replacements and many others.
As regular member, Anina says: “I joined the FeelGood Factory because I wanted to lose a few inches having broken my leg and thus, not being as active. In 12 sessions, I have lost 9 inches and roughly 4lbs. The FeelGood Factory has also really helped the mobility of my leg so I would recommend everyone to give it a try, especially if you suffer from a few aches and pains.”
Another frequent user, Sheila, commented: ““I didn’t think that I’d be able to use one of the machines as it focuses on your shoulders and neck and I have always had a problem with mine. However, when I finished my work out, my pain had actually already decreased. I suffer from arthritis and I used to have to take pain killers every day. Now, thanks to the FeelGood Factory, I don’t need to take any and my mobility has really improved. I feel so relaxed once I have finished my circuit and I’ve even lost 5 lbs in the process.”
Rob Whitehouse, Slough Community Leisure Chief Executive, said:
“It’s fantastic that so many of our members have already begun to feel the benefits as that is what it is all about at the end of the day. I am really proud to be able to offer a facility like this which can cater for everybody and I look forward to welcoming more people in the future.”
